However, I made the mistake of not having that chat that furniture is not a jungle gym..she decided to use the shelves as steps to get something out of her reach... yikes a total mess. Since i still thought it was ideal for her room i purchased another (shorter) version and it was great.... but a warning... it does not reassemble so nicely. Once it is taken apart and rebuilt, it just doesn't seem to retain its shape.Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14243174191630059374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8525877599710367673.post-45554967557195818142009-11-10T08:41:57.273-05:002009-11-10T08:41:57.273-05:00They look great but my "system" consists...They look great but my "system" consists of opening the basement door, throwing the crap down and shutting the basement door...works like a charm! :)Peggyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03907490294688508999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8525877599710367673.post-92076583149040485622009-11-10T08:16:01.997-05:002009-11-10T08:16:01.997-05:00Don't have one, but I think there is a flickr ...Don't have one, but I think there is a flickr pool out there somewhere with lots of "styling" examples. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get furniture anchors and install them on the back of the bookshelves to the wall.

FYI. My daughter Lucy bought a massive bookshelf thing at Ikea ( Lack?) and asked her sister Claire and Claire's beau to put it together.... we are talking difficult... the two putter-together-ers are Mechanical engineers and user friendly with instructions. They said the slightest variance in the seams meant for big problems in the end. They got sold with our house when we moved.

I am currently using the IKEA Besta for my office. It used to be in our family room for toys and TV, stole it for my office and stuck a big corkboard where the TV went. Holds LOTS.

There really is no good storage solution for kid's shit. I got tired of the little pretty storage bins... it was impossible to keep their stuff organized and I started getting OCD trying to keep matchboxes and blocks in the correct bins. Total playtime buzzkill. I gave up and got big ugly green storage bins and just make them throw all their crap in them when its time to clean up.
