birthday slash christmas needs

i know...needs is a strong word. how about wishes? although as my husband is wont to say.."you can wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which comes out fulfilled first..." charming AND smart!!! but i am turning 40 this saturday and feel this week of blog posts needs to honor the passing into crone. and this crone needs some things...
for starters i will take 7 yards of this lee jofa fabric for my new 85 dollars craigslist chair...

i would also like to wake up every morning to this:

this cookbook of healthier baked options:

as well as this one, cuz momma needs to lay off the meat for a while:

this book of walton ford paintings so that i can frame some around the hizzy:

this globe for fiona's room (i'm not totally selfish):

lookie it lights up!!!

and these...also for fiona...her birthday is also this month and i want to give a few of these as party favors and then keep the rest for decorations for the party.

how amazing are these colors together...lime, lavender, ochre, cream and faded ruby...

and i am really not opposed to this:

so if anyone out there wants to buy me this stuff that would be awesome.
thanks.
love,
40.

  1. You are the awesomest almost 40 year old I virtually know. Lets just get 14 yards of that fabric and split it.

  2. Brave soul announcing your big 4-0, although you're a poster child for how-to-be-more-awesome-than-ever. As for the wish list...I'll see what I can do... ;)

  3. That last pic is killing me. My birthday's in January — maybe if we both wish really, REALLY hard, it will come true!

  9. Well well, the big 4...0. I am 2 years from it but I kinda can't wait. I think there is something cool about 40. Anyway, I love the cupcake book and the cute animals. Thanks for all your well wishes last week.

  10. Well, than I am a crone plus three. Welcome, Dahling. And happy and healthy, too. I think these suggestions are all wonderful HINTS and I am loving that globe for my daughter's room as well.

  11. Mr. Charming and Smart here to remind ever aging wife that your birthday is actually on Sunday not Saturday.
No reason to crone the queen before her time.

  15. 40??? I never though I'd say "my youngest child is 40". How depressing is that?

  16. Excuse me, Ms. Queenie B-day Cha Cha Momma soon to be Cullen, but just exactly where does the infamous Nicolas BB fit into the white fluffy quarter you so desire?

I image him lounging on a pale green velvet (to match his eyes) throne next to the largest feed bowl possible while the white fuzzies look on.

  23. Like SGM Said, the tissue paper puffs = best/cheapest decoration ever. You don't even have to buy them like that, because you can make that shite for about $.50 a peice. Layer sheets of tissue on top of each other (all one solid color or varying colors, duh, will give you stripes or not)then fold them, accordian/fan style, back and forth on itself, until you have a stack of accordian folds, use a twist-tie (extras come in your trash bag box - a la Hefty Sack), tie it in the middel, cut a scalloped edge, and proceed with pulling the layers apart.

There! (Did that make ANY sense? You probably already knew this anyway, but I couldn't resis)

  24. So this is my first time to your blog... I followed a link from MHLP because I liked what she got you for your birthday. My birthday is tomorrow and my husband has no Idea that Rob is the top of my list. Just a cuddle though... I am not the cheating kind! I am happily married, but that man could make me unhappy real quick! Anyhow, happy birthday and I am a follower now!
