remember when i told the world that i would cut a bitch for some of these??? yeah, well. i finally ate some. a whole box in fact. let me just say that yes, they are as good as everyone says they are. and yes, there are some flavors that taste similar to turds floating in an acid bath. i didn't have a list of flavors so i had to guess a lot. there was one that i am pretty sure was either honeysuckle or orange blossom that blew my mind!! the rose, caramel, honeysuckleorangeblossom and vanilla were the best. but they all got eaten. even the acid turds. and you have to eat them pretty much all at once, otherwise they get all dried out. a few times i thought i was gonna puke. but it would have been a beautiful puke show. rainbow puke.
how did i get these cookies?? my blog pal bailey at peppermint bliss sent them to me from london. smuggled them past fed ex actually..seriously, she went to major lengths to get them to me. and i am eternally grateful to her. this is part of our email conversation:
"Hotel wouldn't send them, embargo on US, bum city (although...true story here, while I was arguing with the concierge about the safety of sending magic treats to US they sent not 1 but 2 straight up prostitutes to rooms...not staying in a brothel...officially anyway)
Went on our own to fedex #1...told them treats were soaps...soaps apparently a no-go for sending to US
Go to fedex #2...notice hallmark store across the streat...realize hallmark might be universal for "Tame useless crap that could not/would not cause international incident"
Buy frog to keep magic treats company. Send both using Hallmark bag.
And...scene."
you can also read about her awesome trip to london with her finance (onpurpose) at her hilarious blog, peppermint bliss.
turn it up!!

lets discuss the new blog and chairs bitches!!!!!
(sads about the darkness- its dreary here today) but...
aren't they fabulous? i have susie quillin over at eyespy to thank for them, she was all "here...take em!" . for realz. woman is sitting on a treasure trove of craigslist scores from 2 white panton chairs to a fabulous driftwood floor lamp that would send your lady pole into multiples. anyway, these chairs....there are 2 of each!! TWO OF EACH!!!!!!! the fabric on the chippendale chairs was so grossballs that i took them off the minute i got them home. but remember this? it's going on those chippendales. i am taking them in this week to the upholsterer. the robin's egg isn't terrible but its not the best paint job. it's slopped on pretty thick so i'd like to strip them and start over at some point. but i am going to live with the blue for a while. since it's not awfulpants.
the top chairs are in need of some love as well, both upholstery wise and structurally. but i have no idea the direction i am going to go here yet. oh but i am excited!!
in other news...
susie and i (susie) worked on the new blog most of today and i can honestly say i am inloverobertpattinsonstyle with the way it looks. you all will be too. its very me and susie is very very good. i highly recommend her to you for your new blog look needs.
that said i am pretty sure between now and tomorrow there might be a magic spell over the internets when you try to read my (your favorite) blog. so please be patient and come back. you might have to re-do stuff which i really do hate for you but if you don't you will miss my foray into the super rich and famous. so come back and re-follow etc... i will hopefully have all the pertinent info you will need to make the transition gracefully and without much frustration.
loveballs,
myfavoriteandmybest.com (don't go there yet, it's not there...this is just to start the mental process on your part)
how's your weekend going? sors for you people immersed in snowfuckness.
super spring power

happy spring all of you. this is going to be a great season. i feel it. i never in a million years predicted this blogging thing. not like i predicted i would win an oscar by age 30. i mean i thought at this point in my life i would be staring at at least 2 of them on my mantel. or near the shitter b/c i am clearly too cool to put them on a mantel. plus from a decor perspective that's tackballs. anyway. i am off to susie's office today for the big blog change! that's right, MFAMB is going dot com. (and so much closer to fame and fortune) so all of you (and i mean ALL of you- there will be cutting if you don't) are going to have to adjust your follow status. i think. will know more today. but for now, sit back, stay tuned and enjoy the fresh weather.

considerations over the weekend
as you know MFAMB has done quite a lot of work lately finding good shit on craigslist for you. and while i am good at finding great deals and worthy castoffs i haven't really even begun to tap into all that i am capable of here. in a nutshell i believe i can probably recreate a room off of craigslist. or get really fucking close. this obviously all depends on whether you are close to a major city or you live in the middle of alaska. so imagine me like a decorator only instead of all new shit i get all the stuff affordable like off of craigslist. i know this is nothing new for decorators who work within a budget, many of them shop craigslist all the time. i am not reinventing the wheel here, just offering my services to find it for you at a cost. b/c as fun as all of this has been it has been ridiculously time consuming.don't believe i can do it, or it's worth paying me for???...well then just read what others are saying:
"cool rooms, nice finds...seriously you need an agent" .....boops.
"you. are. awesome".....chedva.
"HOW ON EARTH DID YOU FIND ALL THIS GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much, my whole apartment is fully decorated and it only took you a day, while I've lived here for almost 4 months!!!".....court.
"dang chica, you did it again. you got a nose or sixth sense for this treasure finding".......ms. smart
"Your CL skills are unmatched! I need to check out the Atlanta CL before I head that way in a few weeks just to see if I can snag a deal while I'm there. You've inspired me . . .".........my interior life
"You should start charging for this shit- you are crazy good at finding the treasures out of all the crap".....lindsb
amen lindsb! a to the mother fucking MEN!!
so if you have contacted me already about doing this for you, have no fear i am still going to do it for you for free. from here on out though i will be charging 25 dollars per room. that is cheap as farts and i am totally worth it. that fee includes as many email consultations as is needed as well as finding you everything your top 3 craigslist cities have to offer based on what it is you are looking for. the fee is 25 dollars for 10 items. that fee is subject to change as my business grows. DUH! if i am needed to travel to help you put it all together in your house then we are talking a little bit more. but that is TBD.
so, let me know what you think. be honest. but be nice. i am just trying to make a little money to help out around here. my enthusiasm is honest and my intentions are pure, and i actually really really love doing it.
hearts and farts,
MFAMB
ms. smart's los angeles craiging
do yourself a favor and go to los angeles craigslist, just for shits and gigggles. it actually kind of pissed me off it was so good. i mean it's still craigslist, and you do have to rummage through a heaping pile of shitfuckstack to get to the awesomeness.
ms. smart (you probs know her from her blog and/or her comments on your blog) asked me for some cool lamps and art storage, here's what she wrote:
"Dang, you are good at that.
I need a cool floor lamp for my living room. What do you think tiger lady? Pasadena, CA (Los Angeles area). I have dark wood, red silk chairs, brown leather. Think urban condo - modern, fancy, artsy, a bit of leopard, French interior kinda. I also need an art area solution. "
here is my inspiration pic (elle decor):

mid century floor lamp- $175 all of these lamps i picked are way cool and would turn a room filled with antiques into a chic and modern space.

brass floor lamps- $25 each or $40 for both personally i think this is about themost ridiculously awesome deal in the history of deals. get them, both! srsly look no further.

mid century pole lamp- $80 good but the ones above are better.

arc floor lamp- $75 pretty cool too!

vintage mid century copper bamboo floor lamp- $150 also good.

wooden asian bowls and stands- $5 how cool is this loot? good for your arty stuff? as i see it they are like pedestals for your paints. give them reverence.

wooden decorative accessories- $18 like cool trays to gather your paints and supplies and keep order among them.

vintage white metal shelves- $350 these are fuckballs expensive. but very cool. baskets don't come with but a few of those wooden things above would be cool.

west elm shelves- $100 also cool. good for a small space.

handmade rustic cabinet and hutch- $250 i thought this was the cat's paws. so unique and a big place to store your stuff. it's handmade!! what better place to store your handmade's. great price too. it's soooo bali.

antique music stand- $150 cute. good for papers and what not.

steel ornate victorian display case- $125 love this. it's steel!! and it's ornate.

vintage metal shelves- $30 i love these mixed in with dark wood floors and rich antiques.

so ms. smart i surely hope i have provided you with some sort of love.

courtney's miami craig
let me tell you, miami cragislist is like shopping at your awesome gay uncle's garage sale. in other words it was awesome and kinda easy. especially given what court was after.
"I'm looking for a more grown up, sexy version of the Hollywood regency shtick...less palm beach more sexy. I want this to be a bachelorette cave that makes people want to have a gin and tonic in their best cocktail dresses and be scandalous later. Carrie in SATCs new apt with a Kara Mann edginess. U dig? Thx xo."
i used the images of carrie bradshaw's new apartment and a sexy kara mann bedroom as inspiration. here and here.
