Oh yes if you don't mind me saying you would be crazy to pass this up. But I would haggle on the price some. I could totally see this in white glossy paint! Good luck!

You would be crazy not to buy it! I am swooning over the storage alone! VERY NICE!

For $40 bucks I say a million times yes. Not sure if this site has what you like, but I find a lot of inexpensive hardware here: http://www.dlawlesshardware.com/

Hey I live in Brookhaven in Atl. You live in Atl right? Well there is this old General Store off Peachtree just north of P'tree and Osborne on the right (if you are going north). They have hardware there that looks like it's been there for 50 years! It's such a cool store. You might find something there but if not it's totally worth the trip anyways! I think it's called General Store.

This is absolutely gorgeous! Black with gold handles? Have you tried Restoration Hardware?

Glossy black, or even matte black with some gild trim would also be very dorothy draper fab...I own this piece, almost exactly. From my husbands first life...now living in his home office as a credenza behind his very old big walnut desk, of our second home...which is not the one i put much energy into decorating. But someday i will, and when i do, that piece is first on the to paint list. Finding hardware to fit these old pieces, huge pain in the arse. Helping my sister with that hunt now for a bedroom suite from same era that I helped her paint gloss white. If like hers, and the CTC (center to center....of the pre-drilled holes) measurements are rather large, which A) is in limited stock, mostly special order, and B) by definition a larger piece of hardware...ergo $$$. You can find cheaper/larger selection of smaller hardware, fill the existing holes, and drill new ones. My concern there would be, making sure the old/filled holes don't leave an outline showing thru the new paint job. Probably needs a professional to avoid that. Or, there is a way to wiggle about 1/4 inch either direction, with your CTC measurements. Say the hardware on your piece is a CTC measurement of 5". You find some great hardware, great price but it's 4 3/4" CTC...or 5 1/4" CTC. Either way, you can make those round holes ovals, by drilling a second hole right next to it..(good eyeball judgement/measuring required)..On the "inside" of the holes if you need to go smaller...on the outside of the holes if you need to go bigger. You dont want to fudge more than about 1/4" with this method or the hardware will be loose on the face of the door/drawer. But just tweaking it a 1/4"....you can really clamp down that screw on the inside, maybe add a washer, and eliminate any loose wiggle.
