the drawers just got their first coat of farrow and ball's hague blue. and let me tell you this paint is worth every extra penny. it is so glossy and delicious (oil based high gloss) and it paints so smoothly. it is reading a tad lighter in pictures than in person. but it's GORGEOUS!
as soon as it dries (which is taking a COON'S AGE) i will sand that shit down and apply the second coat of love.
does anyone think the sanding between coats is necessary or should i just say fuck it and apply another coat once this one is dry??

Gorgeous color! I love it.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, lovely!
I know that you probably don't want to sand it, but you should... with a really fine grade sand paper. Make sure you let it dry well before you sand it.
This might make you scream, but your finish will be nicer if you throw away the roller. Really. Promise.
So excited to see the finish. Love the color. It is so fine.
omg. new favorite color.
LOVE the color!!!!
GORGEOUS. Love love love love. Wait and sand. ignore your paint ADHD.
Beautiful! It's going to look amazing!
I don't like sanding in between coats, but you should. My hubby always makes me even though I don't want to.
So I think you should do it as well!
It looks awesome!!!
Yes, since you want to do it right, use the finest gauge sandpaper you can find. Lightly sand. It'll be worth it.
Can't wait to see the finished product!
sand b/t. i usually use 220+ grit :)
hurry so we can see the final result!!!!
I never sand between coats, but I am a lazy whore. Just kidding! I'm not lazy.
I can't wait to see the finished product! It's going to be so chic!
What a gorgeous color, reminds me a bit of this Russian Blue used on the walls of a Miles Redd interior published in Elle Decor. I took it to the paint shop when I lived in San Francisco and had it matched for my bedroom. Can't wait to see your piece all finished!

ok, SWOOOOON. that color is incredibly yummy. i've been thinking about doing a little corner of our home in something similar - i will have to try this shade!! isn't it amazing what a difference GOOD paint makes?
i just choked on my food- LOVE IT, love love love it!
Amazing!! Love the color.
Sorry- I say sand too.
Where did you get the paint?
ok- so i am gonna sand (lightly please) and then re paint.
southern aspirations: the paint comes from a local paint store that they had to order from canada b/c they don't mix the oil based paints themselves.
Beeeeoooootiful!
oh i can't wait to see it!!! gorgeous.
i'm always super-lazy & wouldn't sand but that's probably not the right answer.
xoxoxo
Ohlala!! Finally! Looks fabulous!!!

Freakin' gorgeous. That is all.
Oh yeah, I guess sand it some, blah, blah...
Get MOVIN', though, we're DYING!!!
Love the color. Love your blog. I live in Atlanta and wondered where you buy your farrow and ball paint?
hi ann, thanks!! i got the paint at armistead paints on roswell road in buckhead. its right across the street from chick fil a and fresh market. they don't mix the oil based paints in the store though so this particular pot of paint came from canada. they had to order it for me and then i just picked it up in their store when it arrived. worth every penny though!!
Love the color, love your blog! It's nice to finally find a design/decor blog with some f bombs! A girl after my own heart!
Damn, that's stunning. Sand it, but hurry the hell up because we all want to see the big reveal! That's gonna look fan-f*!@kin-tastic!
i love that color!! cannot wait to see the finished project.
i've been waiting for you to paint that thing, and soooo excited to see the final results! Looks great! I am not the best DIYer but everytime I read a DIY post about painting, sanding seems to be highly recommended (but the impatient side of me says, screw it!!!).
sanding stinks but you really will be happier if you do... sigh
This looks great! I can't wait to see the finished project! Beautiful blue!
