THAT is THE bed I am looking for that will make my new single-lady bach pad absolutely fabulous. I'm stealing this.

You have NO idea. I was just talking about sconces too....I can't even put in print what crimes this bed makes me want to commit.

happy birthday fiona! hope you love the nutcracker--we would always take my daughter and her friends for "tea" after seeing it (would have been CRAZY ants in the pants if the girls would consume all the teacakes and sweets beforehand!)

Jenny, If you haven't made them yet... warning... they're super hard to cut. Just cut a few layers at a time... then cut the next few layers. And don't go for perfect rounded edges, you'll never get them, but once they're opened you won't be able to tell. And be careful fan-ing them opened-- my tissue paper tried to tear every second of the party! But they'll be hanging high and you won't be able to tell at all! Happy Birthday to Fiona... I hope you share party pics!!

Well, Happy Birthday Fiona. The Nutcracker is wonderful. What a great memory for you and your mom. Enjoy every beautiful second.

I really like the backround painting of the scene you showed from the nutcracker Jenny. I love love love the color palette. I want to paint paintings like that. Just saying. I dream about painting paintings like that.

Oh the rental. Man o man. I never came across a rental like that. It seems like the renter and the landlord were a match made in heaven. Win win.

xxhugs from texas

the tree on the table is so perfect. I am picturing my kids holding hands, swaying in a circle, singing carols around it, whoville style.

and I want those exact floors. how do i get those? is it super expensive reclaimed wood? will they give me splinters? will the dirt get stuck in the cracks in between? enlighten me, someone.

the kitchen reads a little cold to me, but I'm otherwise foaming at the mouth over all that glorious grayness!

What was Fiona's fave part of the Nutcracker??? Clara? Land of the Sweets? Snow fairies?
For me, it's always a tie between the dancers representing "Tea" and The Russian!

Hi Fiona,

Love you blog, but as a true southern girl, you should watch your language. It makes you seem less feminine and not classy. This should be your goal for the new year!

I'm just saying....it's awkward when you try too hard to be "cool". OK?

I love dark grey with white. And I like the use of many rugs-it looks great, but in my house my cat would l have a wonderful time scrunching them all up.
