it's snowing...

in atlanta, right now. snow. ahhh snow. i grew up in the midwest where it snowed... a lot. but that was when i was a kid and snow was magic. i didn't have to drive, worry, and from what i can remember i was never cold. just happy to be in the snow. the quiet, beautiful snow.

here in atlanta we are lucky if we see snow once a year.

how about this granny smith apple green house? never again will i scoff at the idea of a green house.

fairy tale like...

ripon, north yorkshire (for my dad)...

the snow doesn't look like any of these pictures, btw. and it probably never will. nope. it looks like this:

yeah. taken about 10 minutes ago from my porch. you can't see the flakes but they're there. i promise.

i love the time right after the snow falls. the air seems so clean and crisp. and at night, if the sky is clear and the moon is out, the field behind my house looks maxfield parrish blue. it makes me happy :)

snow is like frosting, or powdered sugar :)

We've had big fat flakes falling from the sky all day here in Indianapolis. I don't care for snow very much, but I have to admit everything does look really pretty out today. Not needing to drive anywhere today helps my perspective on things as well.

I just recently moved to Gainesville GA (Hi neighbor!!!) And this is the 1st time I've experienced snow. falling. from the sky. Its amazing!!! I feel like a little gurl, playing in the "dandruff" aka snow, and standing with my mouth open trying to catch the snow in my mouth =]

I can vouch for you - I was just walking the dogs in it. It was kind of pretty but what is up with this crazy weather around here??

Can't believe you don't love snow! Everything looks so good with snow and it can be pretty invigorating to walk in snow. That granny smith green house is so good! Loving all the snow-filled images! Thanks.

The first 10 times it snowed in Chicago this year were pure.magic. I took the puppies out and we frolicked. Today, it is snowing, and I tried to go about my everyday life and ended up looking like that little squirrel except less cute. Not so magical. Maybe if I paint my house green it will seem charming again? I'm not sure my landlord would like that though...

My Grandma lived on Green Street in a bright green house. It was bold and quirky and 100% awesome!

It's pathetic how excited we get, isn't it! My kids are dying for it to pile up, aka, they are dying not to go to school tomorrow. But being a GA girl since the age of 3, admittedly, I am as excited as they are. Shhhh, don't tell. ;0)

Enjoy the fleeting moment

I like snow for about 24 hours. then I want it gone. Dirty snow is not pretty. Shoveling snow is not fun.

That green house is gorgeous. I live in a green house. It used to be the colour of an actual sage leaf, but now it is Hardie Plank siding in the oh so tastefully named Mountain Sage -which is a little darker. Still, the reddish cedar and fir accentuate the green. I love telling people I live in the green house on the corner.

Oh, I'm so glad you have snow! I bet your little one is soooooo happy, also. I hope you enjoy the winter wonderland and that it lasts a little through the weekend :)

Also, that green house is amazing! I, too, will never doubt/swear off green. How beautiful!

I love snow, if I don't have to go anywhere and can just watch it fall. It is so pretty.

I used to live in Atlanta and have fond memories of the day we got flurries and school was closed for 2 days!

That lil squirrel is soooo cute. The last photo looked like Aspen. Greg Fishel always gets his shit wrong here- we were supposed to have snow and school was delayed/canceled... I wake up to practically 40 degrees! Meh!

Hands down, my favorite snow post yet this year! Our snow is only slightly more evident than yours (I'm in Chattanooga). It snowed at my house for about 12 hours yesterday, never got above freezing, the ground is hard-as-a-rock frozen, and it only accumulated about 1/2 inch. Not so pretty, just caused about 500 car accidents. Mother nature is one teasing bitch.

Oh, and that green house is fucking awesome.
