i have been on my feet all day organizing games and puzzles and baby clothes and what not for fiona's school consignment sale- which BTW starts tomorrow night and goes thru saturday. good times. and let me tell you it is a fucking treasure trove of everything you need for your kid. it looks like santa's workshop in there.
anyway..
someone please take me here....
and i received the wonderbar a few days ago, apparently a few of you did too. it is small. like the size of a teabag. literals. but after 2 days my face skin looks healthier, rosy and glowy. the rash isn't gone but it's better. kudos to whoever told me about pine tar soap and tea tree antiseptic cream by dermaE.
how do we feel about exposed plaster walls? hatesies? amy neunsinger's home had them too.
next time i want to paint something and i'm all..."what should i do?" you all refer me back to this raspberry cream showstopper. thanks.
i can't stop with the white...

all that first photo is missing are tree parts growing through the walls. looks bosnia or chernobyl or some such awful shit.
sorry. i meant to say, the first plaster wall photo. it's not good. very post-chernobyl chic. not a fan.
Hatesies when it's in some Builder Blahdern but in a loft or oooold space with incredible architecture, LOVE IT.
ooo I want to try that soap, I'm addicted to Kiehl's though.... LOVE that raspberry color, my bathroom is painted that color! Exposed walls CAN be cool, but they can also be fug...depends on the space! glad the rash is better!
Exposed plaster is awesome. The walls in the first pic could've looked a whole lot better if the rest of room didn't suck so hard.
And by the way....white...lovesies.
xoxox,
Brandi
And, that room is cracking me up. The fuck? The sad pink sofa is clutching the overstuffed doggie pillow and hoping it doesn't get noticed. The tall bureau is cringing over there in the corner and hoping it doesn't get mugged by the trio of framed posters. Meanwhile the pair of gorgeous chairs have turned their backs on the whole mess and are waiting to throw themselves out of the window.
I do want that fireplace surround and the two carved transoms.
the exposed plaster is a no, the raspberry yum yum is a big yes.
Ditto what Design Darling said...
I just painted a PIANO that color, and I don't know why, but I'm scared as all get out to bring it inside from the garage. I LOVE it, so I guess I should just "own it" but I just know it's a matter of time before someone calls it tacky, then I'm going to have to punch them in the face!
OK, every time you have written about the wonderbar, I so read it as wonderBRA...
lovely photos... love that pink credenza!
just got my wonderbar too....dried me out a little at first (as the directions say it might) but clearing up and looking great! raspberry cream, don't even get me started, LOVE IT
Ah you always make me laugh! Hope the sale goes well!
I'm so with you on the exposed plaster walls. I think if I saw it in Anthro I would love it, but in that home it just looks dirty. Don't like it!
Meh on the plaster walls...
but ye gads on the raspberry cream loveliness. I was just thinking to myself, self? What shall you paint your hand-me-down console in the dining room?
Annnd we have a winner!
No on the exposed plaster and YES to the raspberry paint job. That is gorgeous. I wish I were in Atlanta for this consignment sale - I've got this kid coming and I'd love to have a re-purposing, re-using, one-stop shopping experience. Sounds like my cup of tea.
so, what gives with the wonderbar? worth it or what?
You just cant go wrong with white on white...love it! How is your skin healing up? on the mend?
I would love to join you at that gorgeous chateau ..I love rolling hills of green...very therapeutic..especially when you feel a melt down coming on.
Hope all goes well tomorrow with Fiona's school consignment...love to hear all about it! x
P.S ...Nop...cant do the exposed plaster...I think it would make me feel too depressed and homeless...I dunno...maybe in the right setting???? but I love colour too much to have it flake away.
i am fine with exposed plaster walls as long as you dont top that off with shabby slip-covered furniture, a dinky rug and spindly wood chairs. there needs to be some contrast or balance. the belgians do it nicely, though.
i hate white, but i am surrounded by cold arctic white for 9 months... (yes, i know the belgians do white quite nicely, too.)
OoOOo, quite curious about that wonderbar. I might have to try it now -- thanks for the tip.
I love plastered walls, certainly, but only some...
That white room is definitely perfection *sigh*
xo
please keep reporting on the wonderbar, as my skin is living vicariously. worth it? are you moisturizing more with it? do tell...
I too and loving hearing about the Wonderbar! Small as a teabag? For $40? I'm still intrigued and tempted to take the plunge - keep us posted on the progress! Good luck with the school sale - wish I could go!
