lets discuss the new blog and chairs bitches!!!!!

(sads about the darkness- its dreary here today) but...
aren't they fabulous? i have susie quillin over at eyespy to thank for them, she was all "here...take em!" . for realz. woman is sitting on a treasure trove of craigslist scores from 2 white panton chairs to a fabulous driftwood floor lamp that would send your lady pole into multiples. anyway, these chairs....there are 2 of each!! TWO OF EACH!!!!!!! the fabric on the chippendale chairs was so grossballs that i took them off the minute i got them home. but remember this? it's going on those chippendales. i am taking them in this week to the upholsterer. the robin's egg isn't terrible but its not the best paint job. it's slopped on pretty thick so i'd like to strip them and start over at some point. but i am going to live with the blue for a while. since it's not awfulpants.

the top chairs are in need of some love as well, both upholstery wise and structurally. but i have no idea the direction i am going to go here yet. oh but i am excited!!

in other news...

susie and i (susie) worked on the new blog most of today and i can honestly say i am inloverobertpattinsonstyle with the way it looks. you all will be too. its very me and susie is very very good. i highly recommend her to you for your new blog look needs.

that said i am pretty sure between now and tomorrow there might be a magic spell over the internets when you try to read my (your favorite) blog. so please be patient and come back. you might have to re-do stuff which i really do hate for you but if you don't you will miss my foray into the super rich and famous. so come back and re-follow etc... i will hopefully have all the pertinent info you will need to make the transition gracefully and without much frustration.

loveballs,
myfavoriteandmybest.com (don't go there yet, it's not there...this is just to start the mental process on your part)
how's your weekend going? sors for you people immersed in snowfuckness.

Un-freakin-beLEEVable coolness on the chairs! Can't wait to see your afters.
Also, psyched about your new look - have had someone working on mine for months, yes MONTHS now - long, sad, ridiculous story for another venue.

Congrats on the snags!

When is the big move?

this is weird, but I have the feeling Stephen Drucker was talking about you in his latest Letter from the Editor. Did you get that feeling too?

Anyway, I find it so bullshit that somehow he doesn't like the TONE. Like decorating is all WASPy old ladies who work for other WASP old ladies. It's okay for Jonathon Adler to lay it down. Or Vern Yip. But -- horror! -- not people! Dirty, dirty people!

And it's too bad bcs I usually like him and think HB has improved under his editor leadership. But there.

hhmmmm....anon- i just read the letter b.c i hadn't. i usually don't. im all.."get to the GD houses already". but i have to say i don't think he was talking about me. it seemed he was talking more about comments than actual blogs. plus he seemed to be talking about these "refined senses of hate".
i do not ever come from a place of hate. i come from a place of frustration about the ugly shit and bad design out there. the designtards were about the nastiest i got but i was also frustrated there b/c i felt these people had a fucked up design sensibility. i feel that way about a lot of designers actually. their aesthetic is so perfect, matchy, unreal, ridic expensive etc...
i have a very open mind, probably more open than stephen's. how could he? he's been up ina's ass for far too long. and i love ina!! but that woman is about as in touch with us "real people" as george w. bush was in touch with his smart side.
but it's cool to see that clearly our blogs are read by the "important people". obviously the "new york contest" he was referring to was the bloomingdale's window contest where eddie ross fucking slayed people.

bottom line, im not a hater. i just don't kiss ass. i say what a lot of people think but are too afraid to say. i know this bc i receive several emails a week from people saying just that.

i love HB. i don't have much of an opinion of SD. i really don't care, as i said i'm just there to look at the pictures of gorgeous interiors.

thanks for the discussion and bringing it to my attention though. i think i might after all read his letter from now on. ya nevuh know!

i'm anxious to see the new design. as i continue my adventure into the blogging world, i'm slowly realizing the the girls are better than the boys at this.

yeah i know there are more women bloggin than men (i don't really KNOW that but i'm assuming.) i'm not talking about these dime a dozen mommy blogs that discuss what color their kid's poop was today, but all the other stuff about people as individuals.

in the blogging world, women write better and are usually funnier than men. i could give a shit about design, ok maybe a tiny gum-ball sized shit, but you are funny and write well and thus i return again and again for a dose of goodness.

so, i 'm anxious to see how the new blog turns out, because who knows, maybe i'll get another reader to complete the baker's dozen and have to overhaul things over at hear no evil, see no evil.

Panton, not Pantone. Named after Verner Panton.

(My word verification is "dicaliks.")

Love the chairs!! Congrats on the score you lucky girl!

And early pre-congrats on the new blog - can't wait to see it!

Stephen Drucker's comments were - I assumed when I read them, and I still think - about some of the nasty hate comments left on design blogs. I know he reads Joni's blog, and she gets a lot of haters there.
I actually give him kudos for wanting and loving originality over safeness. Even if the originality fails.

Oh, and yes, the snow sucked ass this weekend. I mean, really?? Just hoping some of the veggies we planted don't die.

I was just "talking" to Susie and am so excited to see the fruits of your collaboration. She is one brilliant and talented lady and I'm jealous you got to see the stash that she has been hinting at. And lucky you to go home with such a great goodie bag of treats. No surprise really, she is one generous lady. I can't wait to see the big reveal. Early congrats, Jenny!!!

Now I get the whole "fabric over the table" post, from SD @ House Beautiful huh?

Looking at his house, it explains a lot...

Love the Chinese Chippy. Coincidentally, I scored 4 similar faux-bamboo Chinesey types at a porch sale in Midtown Atlanta Saturday, plus the friggin' heavy as hell matching table for the delicious price of $125. I've gotta switch blogs too, cuz Blogger doesn't like me any more. Sigh.
