monday color combo

i know many out there either love blue or hate blue. i am a lover. lately i am head over heels for dark blue, midnight, navy, peacock...so blue it almost looks black. delicious. blue works a right treat with brown. and sure, many of you also say..."oh that combo was sooo 2 years ago". and you would be right. but i think b/c there are so many shades of blue and brown it can stay fresh and relevant. like turquoise and milk chocolate, sable and slate blue, midnight and camel. throw in some kelly or lime green and you have fresh and current. you feel me.

Ohhh great inspiration! Blue is my mom's favorite color, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. It's not my FAVORITE, but I do love it so.

I used to think I wasn't a blue person until I looked around my house and realized it was everywhere. Very good argument for why blue/brown still works.

These photos are great! I'm not really a blue person, I thought, until I did a client's powder room in a blue very similar to that in your last image. Floor to ceiling, mouldings included, was painted in this blue. It looked stunning with brushed silver accents and marble. It was a surprise, because the remainder of the house was all quite neutral.

I must say, I think the second to last room is my very favorite. Can a room be sexy? This one is so masculine and luxe...I might have a little tiny crush...*wink

Seriously, what is it with blue lately? I can't get enough of it either. The blue walls in the dining room and the library are gorgeous.
