I am such a sucker for the Simple Minds song 'Don't you forget about me', so I will have to go with the 'Breakfast Club' as my favourite Hughes movie. I'm off to Youtube for some more Simple Minds loveliness.... it's been a while!

Oh I know I was so upset when I heard this. It's hard for me to even pick a favorite. I guess I'll have to say Sixteen Candles. I always wished I was Molly Ringwald with my own Jake. Oh swoon.

So sad...

I am devastated.

Pretty In Pink all the way.

I love all his movies. 16 Candles has a special place in my heart. Goodbye, John Hughes.

I think Pretty in Pink was my favorite. I loved Molly Ringwald's karmann ghia, and I begged my parents to let me buy one (to no avail, sigh). She rocked that granny chic look, too!

Yes, kindred soul...I too was obsessed with Ringwald and her fashion ensemble...but warped body-image me also wanted her thinness...

Breakfast Club & Sixteen Candles. I can hear any of the songs and it takes me right back to the 80's. Bad haircut, neon clothes and all. and I think he was only 58...dang, that's not old!!

For me it would have to be National Lampoon's Vacation or Planes, Trains and Automobiles. I was a huge fan of these movies when I saw them but now I can identify with the "Dad" character even more. I loved all of his movies but these 2 are tops to me.

I watched 16 Candles on HBO so many times that my Dad forbade watching it anymore. Mmmm, the original Team Jacob.

I still quote it in adult conversations. Not cool, I know.
