so this picture was taken about 5 minutes ago...her friend ailey's mom made this adorable costume for fiona and it came with the book ladybug girl and bumblebee boy...needless to say it was probably her favorite present. sorry about the toilet and trash can...hoping Her Cuteness can detract from that bullshit.
(*anthropologie morroccan towel in blue stripe picked up on sale for half the original price. note to readers...never ever buy full price at anthropologie..their shit goes on sale for tons less. )this was my masterful artwork:
the pom poms.
so easy. really, do it. it's simple as hell. in fact supermike made all but 2 of them.
my camera cast a blue glow to everything...if i knew jack about cameras i would have fixed it:
these were all taken with the video camera. so much better:
there were also pink and lavender balloons to match the pink and lavender roses:
looking through all the pics of the table it looked a little gloomy. the table cloth in hindsight was too dark and dreary...but it had squirrels on it!!!!! ultimately it just made the lavender cupcakes look blaaahhh...ah well..it wasn't as dreary in person:
i built a fort for the girls and then led them in a round of rudolph the rednosed reindeer:
after lots of chasing and tormenting nicolas it was time for dreary cupcakes and ice cream:
there was no time for makeup or hair:
but there was all kinds of little mermaid:
cast from left to right: bailey, phoebe, ailey, fiona, ridhi, and grace. sugar and spice and everything nice.

Adorable little girls!
I second what you said about Anthropologie!
Adorable-those puffs are awesome!
A successful party. Your little lady bug is a darling alright. Love the puffs and the purple cupcakes... if you can't have purple cupcakes at Fiona's age, when will you be able to?
How much fun, perfect little girls party
I too know jack about my camera, it was nice to have you say that, I am not alone!!!
Loving every bit of the party especially the lady bug!!
You are the best mommy!
This summer was my girlies first birthday, so I made a huge bbq with rides on a friday afternoon, for all my friends and their kids.... It was soooo nice but I wont make a party with more than ten kids ever again!
As centerpieces we made these HUGE ribbon trees... spray painted branches pink and then hung ribbons of all colors from them... they looked gorgeous blowing in the wind!!
How do you hang the pom poms? With tape?
the pom poms are a great touch. looks like a very fun birthday party!
Will you and Mike please give me my 61st birthday party in July?
Fiona looks adorable.
Did you see the lady bug shoes Jane from Sea of Shoes wears in a recent post?
My mother was called Ladybug, and loved all things ladybuggy.
Maybe this is the start of a signature look for Fiona :-)
xo xo
Beautious!
Everyone and everything.
It's the room's light, not your camera. Our eyes fix light to seem white, but the camera picks up the true hue. Some cameras have settings for indoor fluorescent light (for shame!), sunlight, cloudy days, and so on.
It's an easy repair in any photo software program. In google's free picasa, go to tuning, and then 'neutral color picker.' Click the dropper icon on any white or grey part of the photo and it will adjust all of the other colors according to what you deem neutral.
ADORABLE. makes me think about having kids! since i'm almost forty, this is a big compliment. you're a great mama!
sketch- do u have pics of that thang??? sounds amazeballs.
anon- we hung them with monofilament wire and thumbtacks.
VV- my house is far too small and we are far too broke to hold a bday party for a glorious woman like you. is the taj mahal for rent? i'll bet some bloggers would chip in to get it for you and i will be the mistress of ceremonies.
thanks binaross!!! if i understood any of that i would TOTALLY be on that shit!
cutecutecute.
I often fantasize about some sort of disaster after which I could go looting at Anthropologie. I would be sooo good at looting.
lovely!! all of it.
(and i kind of like the blue tint to the pictures. you should have told us you meant to do that!) :)
My goodness look at all that cuteness on the sofa! Love the pom-pom decor - must do for the crumb's 2nd in February!
oh, fiona's soooo cute!! you're a fabulous hostess..
i can't believe how busy I've been this month! But, I've missed popping in and saying hello to you! Fiona makes an adorable ladybug! Glad it was a fun partay! Oh, and regarding the blue cast, that's a setting that's easy to change (but I can't think of it right now :P --I'll send it to you later!)
Cutie Pie! Hope her B-day was as fab as her Mommy made it look!
Adorable little ones. Your flowers came out great. I did the same for my girl's sweet 16..in hot pink and orange for a december 1st b'day. Don't worry about whether your table looks good enough, you made it with love. That's what Ladybugs remember.
Oh Em Geeeeeee........
Zoey loves the Ladybug Girl book and that outfit is scrumptious. And I love the Moroccan blue towel.
I also think that OMG thing I did up there is quite possibly the most obnxious thing I've ever written. Sorry.
adorable party for an adorable little girl. i just did a little research on your anthropologie comment and as you'll see on my blog (i hope!!!) i gave you some lovin'. give credit where credit is due, ya know?
