To use one of my favorite grammatically incorrect phrases...that is MORE BETTER...this issue of Lonny that is.

this issue was better, right? a couple of "eh, my apartment looks nicer than this one" places and then some honest-to-goodness interesting places.

but what is it that keep this thing a little "off" (besides the format, which is off)? is it the styling? I think it's just not domino enough. and the font is awful.

but BETTER! def. better!

hmm, my personal tastes are . . .
the Voth/Barrel place starting on pg 132 is perfection! I love every detail. It is a dreamy mashup of rustic & primitive and restrained glam & luxury. I just can't exprees how turned on I am by it. I'd even learn to love that cat.
All the rest pales to me however, I love all the different awesome graphic wallpapers used throughout although what's up with it being mostly a powder room idea? I find that kind of dizzying to be in a tiny space with such dramatic walls. Why not use those amazing peonies in an open space? I'm no designer but what gives?
I'm also digging most of the art. probably because it is the one thing that seems to subliminally say "if you had your shit together, you'd have all this gorgeously framed art and effortless style"
just me?

I don't really think you can be all "I'm so new, you don't know what's new" and have a Hermes blanket on your bed and do all your walls in Farrow and Ball.

I wish they did side by side pics on the sisters' apartment -- altho then they'd be doing a domino knock off. (when they launched into the second apartment, I thought, "wait, I thought we were done here")

Loved the Voth/Barrall place. Writing didn't go with pics IMO (show more kitchen!), but lovely.

I wish they did more resources. Resource and link EVERYTHING possible. Why not use the one thing the interweb is good at?

Better. But still not great. Hope they get the time they need to work it out. It's alot of work to put this together.

it's not the same as holding something shiny and new and perfumey in your hands, but the content is much better than anything i've seen in a real magazine in a long time. and if you read the editor's letter she's all about incorporating readers' feedback and making subsequent changes. it's a two thumbs up from me.
