I agree...best smell ever! Except on old ladies.
We planted two bushes in our backyard a few years ago and they have yet to bloom. I'm hoping this is the year. If it is, come by and I'll share the bounty.
Big sad sigh. It's raining in Minneapolis too.
oh man, those are the loveliest shades of purple ever. and i absolutely LOVE your title. "soon". i think it's the singlemost inspiring title with regards to stirring up anticipation for spring.
You reminded me of this: "Winter, slumbering in the open air, wears on its smiling face a dream of spring."Groundhog day, bitches. That shit is poetical.
Counting the days. Second by friggin second.
And they're saying another winter snow storm and a flood watch this weekend. What the? I thought I left the rain behind in Seattle?
Praying for "soon." Starting to lose it with all the rain. I am starting to chant under my breath while at my desk at work..."spring, spring, spring, spring..."
These are one of my favorite flowers, I love these pictures! Thank you for sharing them!
Once I moved from California, February became the longest month of the year.Lilacs, early viburnum, magnolias, roses, peonies, wisteria, gardenias, lavendar. That's what in my garden waiting for "soon" to arrive.
My yard and Town is loaded with Lilacs.. Can't wait till May.yvonne
I just got chills over fucking LILACS. Ours bloom every other year. This is our year!
Speaking of "soon," when is your John Gidding blog coming out? His series has started, I've noticed.
ahh...anon...funny you should ask. john and i were speaking via igoogle chat just the other day and i asked him if he got my email (the 3rd one i sent?) and he said he did...and sceeeeene.in other words i have no fucking idea.
Raining in Dallas too. Spring really is just around the corner for us. My daffodils tips are emerging from the soil as we speak. Hurry. Hurry.
mmmm, I am imagining smelling the in my head right about now- so delish
omg, i feel like can smell them now. thank you for this! now i officially have spring fever.
Mmmmmm, lilacs. They remind me of walking to elementary school and of the ghost who would appear right after you smelled lilacs on Dark Shadows when I was a kid! Nightmares!
Seriously, this has been a brutal winter. I have not seen the sun for 3 weeks. I live in texas damnit! It's supposed to be WARM. I just checked the forecast for next week and there's snow and sleet again. Mother nature, if you're not going to make the weather bad enough for me to miss work then get over yourself!
