We planted two bushes in our backyard a few years ago and they have yet to bloom. I'm hoping this is the year. If it is, come by and I'll share the bounty.
oh man, those are the loveliest shades of purple ever. and i absolutely LOVE your title. "soon". i think it's the singlemost inspiring title with regards to stirring up anticipation for spring.
Praying for "soon." Starting to lose it with all the rain. I am starting to chant under my breath while at my desk at work..."spring, spring, spring, spring..."
Once I moved from California, February became the longest month of the year. Lilacs, early viburnum, magnolias, roses, peonies, wisteria, gardenias, lavendar. That's what in my garden waiting for "soon" to arrive.
ahh...anon...funny you should ask. john and i were speaking via igoogle chat just the other day and i asked him if he got my email (the 3rd one i sent?) and he said he did... and sceeeeene.
Mmmmmm, lilacs. They remind me of walking to elementary school and of the ghost who would appear right after you smelled lilacs on Dark Shadows when I was a kid! Nightmares!
Seriously, this has been a brutal winter. I have not seen the sun for 3 weeks. I live in texas damnit! It's supposed to be WARM. I just checked the forecast for next week and there's snow and sleet again. Mother nature, if you're not going to make the weather bad enough for me to miss work then get over yourself!

And they're saying another winter snow storm and a flood watch this weekend. What the? I thought I left the rain behind in Seattle?

Speaking of "soon," when is your John Gidding blog coming out? His series has started, I've noticed.
